No bounty was placed on the 97 persons declared wanted.
NANMr Ekpa, purported IPOB prime minister, had ordered all residents of the South-East to stay home for two weeks as a protest to push for the release of IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu.
“This is unacceptable and must not be allowed to succeed in Igboland,” Mr Iwuanyanwu said.
In accepting IPOB’s denial, which seemed to have come from a faction of the secessionist movement, the opposition leader appeared to be ignoring the public statement of Simon Ekpa.
“We are winning the war and therefore call on Ndi Enugu to volunteer information to the authorities.”
He added that the state government reiterated that the ban on illegal action would be enforced to the full extent of the law.
Mr Mbah has threatened to shut down schools and markets, observing the one-week sit-at-home order by the IPOB faction.
In August 2021, IPOB introduced a sit-at-home order every Monday across the Southeast to pressure the government to release its detained leader, Kanu.
IPOB also denied that it plans to print Biafran currency and other state paraphernalia.
Mr Ekpa, 37, shot into prominence following the abduction of IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu by Nigerian agents in June 2021 — becoming the de facto leader of the secessionist movement.
