Mr Arase was appointed as the 18th indigenous I-G of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in April 2015.
Mr Jonathan, in a condolence message to Mr Arase’s family, said the former IGP served the nation with honour and dignity.
Mr Akpabio said, “Dr Solomon Arase’s death is too sudden, and he will be sorely missed because of his impactful life in society.’’
The IG also commended the late Arase’s significant contributions to police reforms and national security.
He retired from the police on June 21, 2016, upon reaching the mandatory retirement age.
President of the forum, Solomon Arase, a former inspector general of police, gave the charge at the formal unveiling of the BCF at a dinner on Sunday night.
Mr Kukah said that memorials were only for those who make impacts.
“As senior officers, you must be held responsible for any relapse in the security apparatus of the nation.”
The chairman charged the officials to adhere strictly to the highest standards of professionalism.
