Mr Osifeso said the case had been transferred to the Homicide Section of the SCID, Iyaganku.
Sources said the husband and wife started an argument around 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday, and the woman allegedly locked the husband out of their bedroom.
Mr Osifeso noted that efforts were currently in top gear to apprehend members of the criminal network behind the abduction.
The accused, simply identified as Ahmed, resides in the same residence with his visually impaired father and ailing uncle.
Mr Osifeso said that the command had commenced investigation into the matter.
The source said, “When we got there, the cleric had already run away, but we found the victim’s lifeless body on the ground, without a head and in the pool of his own blood.’’
“The state police command will arrest and prosecute violators,” the Oyo police spokesman said.
The incident reportedly triggered a riot in the school.
Mr Osifeso said that the command had commenced an investigation into the incident.
The CP said that the command increased layers of supervision for its field operatives during the holidays.
