Mr Hundeyin said two of the suspects (names withheld) were apprehended on October 15 with human parts in a taxi during a routine stop-and-search.
Mr Hundeyin said that a concerned member of the public lodged a complaint at the police station.
Mr Hundeyin said that the police recovered the vandalised cable wires and one fairly used battery.
Mr Hundeyin said that the suspects allegedly attacked a police patrol team sent on a rescue mission.
He said that the cause of the fire and value of the property destroyed are yet unknown.
He said that the incident happened about 9:30 p.m. on Friday.
Mr Hundeyin said the case was under investigation, and efforts are underway to apprehend the third suspect.
The police spokesperson said that the corpse was evacuated to a public morgue for autopsy.
“Corpse has been removed and deposited at Mainland General Hospital Morgue, Yaba, for autopsy, ” he said.
The police spokesperson said that two unregistered both who 16 passengers each collided in the middle of the lagoon.
