Mr Iyamu said the move reflected Governor Monday Okpebholo’s commitment to rewarding dedication and addressing the dearth of teachers.
Mr Oshodi noted that many issues were wrong with the university.
The governor’s wife noted that in some cases pupils were forced to make heartbreaking decisions of not attending school because they lacked proper footwear.
Mr Ajibefun said the development was aimed at repositioning the education sector.
Mr Makoda said, “This is a timely and bold initiative by the Kano State Government to promote academic excellence.”
The commissioner said the initiative would equip students with entrepreneurial skills so that they could have a viable career to fall back on.
Mr Zulum also tasked the committee to identify and document the grazing reserves and their current status in Borno.
The commissioner noted that by this directive, all schools were expected to comply accordingly.
He said that the initiative was meant to teach the youth various skills that would make them self-reliant.
The governor said his administration was committed to the development of sports and had resolved to boost youth participation in grassroots sports.
