Mr Obasa said landlords’ and estate agents’ activities regarding service charges had become worrisome and a cause for concern.
He noted that traditional rulers played a critical role in bridging the gap between government policies and the grassroots.
Speaker Mudashiru Obasa agreed that LASIEC must appear before the House to present their preparations and ensure transparency in the electoral process.
Mr Ogundipe, in a statement, said that Mrs Meranda remains in office with the support of 36 colleagues.
Ms Meranda said all hands must be on deck to light up Lagos, adding that the project was important to everyone.
Mr Obasa was removed as the speaker on January 13 over allegations of misconduct and mismanagement of funds.
Mr Ogundipe emphasised that the majority of lawmakers who elected Mr Obasa as speaker had the “inalienable” right to impeach him.
A rare sighting of the state’s recent expenditure records showed lawmakers drew billions for frivolous and arcane line items between January 2023 and the third quarter of 2024.
Mr Ogundipe said that the assembly would strengthen oversight to ensure budget works for the good of residents.
According to him, the new bill will also cut sharp practices and reduce fraudulent sale of land.
