Ms Anene said that the bus was attacked on April 3, around Otukpo Burnt Bricks area.
Ms Anene said that the Commissioner of Police, Steve Yabanet, ordered the deployment to ensure peaceful celebration.
The statement noted, “The arrested gang members include Teryima Yaji, a relative of the victim and the mastermind of the kidnap.’’
The CP said that on January 11, police stormed a gun factory at Mbaafa and arrested one Friday Aduduakamve and Iorwashima Iornyume, aka AK-35.
Mr Yabanet said a total of 47 suspects were apprehended over rape charges and 41 suspects for cybercrime.
The CP stated that 18 suspected cultists were arrested at the Avis Hotel and other areas in Northbank.
“Nigerian authorities must investigate the security lapses that enabled gunmen to carry out attacks and get away with it.”
The CP said the suspects were apprehended by his men at different locations during its special Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.
The police commissioner said the command had put together many strategies to prevent crime in the state.
Mr Alabo said the CP warned criminals in Plateau State to stop crimes.
