Mr Ndanusa advised the committee to work toward nurturing and mentoring the students for their greater and brighter future.
Mr Idris said messages have been passed to the presidency in the past three days.
He expressed optimism that there is hope for Nigeria to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 6 by 2030.
Nigeria’s Minister of Water Resources, Suleiman Adamu, led the country’s delegation to attend the three days event at UN headquarters in New York.
The minister gave the early warning, following earlier predictions by the NIgeria Hydrological Services Agency.
Mr Adamu noted that the culture of abuse of waterways was common in communities hosting irrigation sites.
President Muhammadu Buhari had mandated the Minister of Water Resources, Suleiman Adamu, to fashion out ways of preventing flood disaster in Nigeria within 90 days.
“It is expected to enhance Nigeria’s capability to be better equipped towards meeting the target of ending open defecation by 2025.”
Mr Adamu said this at a world news conference on preparation for the 2022 World Toilet Summit in November.
