Mr Abubakar said the ruling validated the courage of Nigerians who refused to surrender their future.
The convention held between November 15 and 16, 2025.
“It is increasingly evident that Nigeria’s democracy, and indeed the integrity of the 2027 general elections, is in serious jeopardy,” Mr Abubakar said.
Her legal team said it would challenge the ruling at the Supreme Court.
The supreme court directed the nine respondents to file their replies within five days each and fixed April 22, 2026, for the hearing of the appeal.
In the appeal marked SC/CV/180/2026, the ex-Senate president is seeking an order staying the execution of the Court of Appeal’s March 12 ruling.
Mr Wike stated, “For me this is a job well done, you can see we are not over decorating, this is what they call proper arrangement.”
According to him, the convention will proceed.

Mr Akintola contended that not all appeals from the Court of Appeal should proceed to the Supreme Court.
