The police command in Lagos has interrogated three Dowen College students over the torture and eventual death of Sylvester Oromoni, a 12-year-old student.
“We hereby request Your Lordship to conduct an inquest into the circumstances surrounding this tragic death at Dowen College, Lekki, Lagos State.”
The group also demanded that Dowen College be held accountable for failing to protect the deceased.
Mr Oromoni claims the school did not reach out to his family during their child’s ordeal.
The government announced in a letter to the school that all academic activities, including online classes and examinations are to be shut down.
The Lagos Ministry of Education on Friday announced the indefinite closure of Dowen College pending the outcome of investigation into the death.
Mr Sanwo-Olu’s administration had ordered the indefinite closure of the school following the death of a 12-year-old student, Sylvester Oromoni Junior.
“We have advised that our students stay home tomorrow Friday 3rd and Monday 6th,” said the email seen on Twitter.
