The federal government has secured a price reduction of the twice-yearly HIV prevention injection, lenacapavir, from $28,000 to just $40 per person.

Ms Ilori also urged the newly formed committee to focus on making Taraba HIV-free.

Temitope Ilori, its director-general, offered the counsel in a statement on Tuesday ahead of the Valentine’s Day celebration.

Ms Abiku added that the initiative was to harness and catalyse African scientists to contribute to an effective HIV vaccine.
They made the commitment at the national-state engagement meeting on Monday night in Abuja.
“So, we know we have a lot of work to do,” the director general said.
