The detained Binance Holdings Limited’s executive, Tigran Gambaryan, was brought to the Abuja Division of the Federal High Court in a wheelchair on Tuesday.
Justice Nwite ordered that Mr Gambaryan’s medical report be made available on or before the next adjourned date, July 16, for the continuation of the trial.
He added that the detained Binance employee “also has full access to consular services from his home government.
“Yesterday, @RepHoulahan and I visited with US citizen Tigran Gambaryan in Kuje Prison in Nigeria,” Mr Hill said in a post on X.
Tigran’s and my own tax dollars get sent to Nigeria in aid every year. Nigeria is supposed to be an ally,” Ms Gambaryan said.
The drama followed the discharge of Tigran Gambaryan, an executive of Binance Holdings Limited, and his colleague, Nadeem Anjarwalla, from a tax evasion charge filed by the FIRS.
President Bola Tinubu’s government has dropped tax charges against Binance executive Tigran Gambaryan held captive by the Nigerian authorities.
Wife of detained Binance official Tigran Gambaryan has accused Nigerian authorities of illegally using someone in Kuje Prison as her sick husband’s next of kin.
Binance will have every opportunity to defend itself in court against these severe charges of financial crimes against the Federal Republic of Nigeria
