Mr Babafemi announced the arrest of a wanted drug kingpin, Lekan Jimoh, alias “Kanmo-kanmo.”
Tin Can Island Port ranked 10th globally, while Lagos Port Complex, Apapa, ranked 12th for performance improvement recorded between 2020 and 2025.
The spokesperson added that authorities in Canada traced a number of stolen high-end vehicles believed to have been smuggled into Nigeria through international shipping channels
He said that the suspects intended to go to Europe.
He also disclosed that the council approved over N510 million for the supply of customised Fire Service Vehicles for the Nigerian Ports Authority.
The container was intercepted on Friday in one of the port’s terminals during a routine examination.
