Mrs Benson-Awoyinka underscored the need for sustained support and sponsorship.
Ms Benson-Awoyinka spoke at the Eyo Festival, also known as Adamu Orisha Play, held on Saturday at Tafawa Balewa Square on Lagos Island.
Ms Benson-Awoyinka said the meeting was a major step forward in promoting adire and African fashion globally.
She encouraged Lagos residents and tourists to join the festivities.
