Routine operations were conducted at the federal and state ministries, banks, and schools.
Some workers who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that their leaders were yet to direct them to comply.
Workers in Bauchi on Tuesday defied the indefinite nationwide strike embarked by NLC and TUC.
Correspondents who monitored the strike reported that some public, primary and secondary school students returned home because no teachers were present.
The directive is to protest the recent brutalisation of the president of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Joe Ajaero.

“There is a need for the government to live up to its commitment and fulfil the terms of the resolution.”
The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) have agreed to suspend the industrial action planned for October 3 for 30 days.
“NLC and TUC will consider the offers by the federal government with a view to suspending the planned strike,” the information minister.
