A correspondent who monitored compliance observed that the top civil servants flouted the unions’ directive to stay away from work.
The minister of labour and employment, Simon Lalong had convened the meeting which was scheduled for 3 p.m. on Monday.
The protesters, escorted by anti-riot police personnel, marched from Michael Okpara Square to Government House.
