The equities market closed lower on Wednesday, reversing previous gains and eroding investors’ wealth by N352 billion.
Meanwhile, the market breadth closed positive with 39 gainers against 34 losers.
The market capitalisation which opened at N29.575 trillion inched higher by N69 billion or 0.23 per cent to close at N29.644 trillion.
Market breadth closed positive as 21 stocks were on the leader’s table, while 11 were on the laggard’s log.
The loss was driven by price depreciation in FBN Holdings, Access Holdings and WAPCO.
The market breadth ended with 15 stocks in the gainers’ and losers’ charts respectively.
The All Share Index rose by 53.29 points or 0.11 per cent to close at 49,889.80 from 49, 836.51 achieved on Wednesday.
Transaction activities ended with 17 gainers and 11 losers.
The gain made the market capitalisation to close at N27.358 trillion from N27.276 trillion recorded on Thursday.
The market capitalisation rose by N1 billion to close at N22.576 trillion.
