“It is very unfortunate, today the town is looking like a ghost town, very deserted.”
The commissioner said upgrading of the camp is part of the state government`s policy to support the NYSC.
The commissioner called on the public to abide by the order and cooperate with the state government to rid Zamfara of bandits.
“The corps members will have their orientation course in Sokoto and Kebbi orientation camps,’’ he said.
“At the end of the renovation work, the camp will be one of the best orientation camps in the country,” the commissioner said.
However, nine are still in captivity while two, Saifullah Yahaya and Sanusi Mati, were shot dead as they tried to escape.
The “Chibok girls” were kidnapped on the night of April 14, 2014, sparking worldwide condemnation and concern.
The abductors are yet to reach the parents to make any demands.
Some of the suspects also helped negotiate and deliver ransoms from families to the kidnappers for a commission.
