The National Emergency Management Agency has urged Sokoto farmers to adopt climate-smart agricultural practices.
NEMA has alerted Kebbi residents to impending flood risks and other weather-related hazards ahead of the 2026 rainy season.
NIWA attributed the fresh accident to negligence, canoe overloading and safety rules violation.
“Environment-friendly habits will help to protect and reduce the risk of flooding in our communities,” he said.
He urged the beneficiaries not to sell the items but make judicious use of them to improve their socio-economic conditions.
He cautioned people on the dangers of indiscriminate dumping of refuse in waterways, constructions in flood-prone areas and other human factors.
