The embassy stated, “We have more than 2,000 visa appointment slots available in the next two weeks for B1/B2 travelers.”
The U.S. noted that indefinite pause to visa processing for the countries would take effect from January 21.
Mr Onanuga stated that relevant government agencies were actively engaging with their counterparts to address the concerns through appropriate channels.
The U.S. Embassy in Nigeria also said the new policy will impose a single entry on non-immigrant visas issued after July 8, 2025.
The mission urged applicants to fill out their own forms and make their appointments themselves via the official websites.
