The embassy stated, “We have more than 2,000 visa appointment slots available in the next two weeks for B1/B2 travelers.”
According to Mr Rubio, the restriction may also affect their immediate family members.
“Self-sufficiency has been a longstanding principle of U.S. immigration policy,” the cable sent to U.S. posts across the globe on Wednesday stated.
The U.S, stated, “Fighting corruption knows no borders or limits on accountability.’’
Mr Akinlabi also advised Nigerian students in the U.S. to remain in active study programmes and refrain from unauthorised withdrawal or absenteeism.
This is to reduce waiting time and delays during visa processing periods in the original countries.
