The market capitalisation lost N545 billion or 2.16 per cent to close at N24.709 trillion.
The uptrend was impacted by gains recorded in large capitalised stocks, amongst which are; Seplat, Guaranty Trust Holding Company (GTCO), UCAP, among others.
The All-Share Index (ASI) gained 0.34 per cent to close at 47.367.31 points from 47.205.03 points posted on Tuesday.
The gain halted the bearish sentiments recorded in two consecutive days.
Measured by market breadth, market sentiment was positive as 29 stocks gained relative to 18 losers.
The tide was impacted by Guiness, UCAP, NNFM, Nigerian Breweries and Honeywell Flour.
