Mr Putin and his leadership have repeatedly threatened to use nuclear weapons against Ukraine and its allies in the course of the war.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal assured that the agreement would be beneficial to Ukrainians as critics.
Mr Naryshkin said Ukraine must renounce its ambitions to join NATO and give up territories annexed by Moscow if the Ukraine war was to end.
Mr Zelensky said that, in his opinion, the Russian view of the war, which had been ongoing for more than three years, had prevailed in the new U.S. administration.

Russia and the United States have so far bypassed European countries in negotiations over a possible end to the war in Ukraine.

The United Nations has welcomed recent diplomatic talks involving Russia, Ukraine and the United States in Saudi Arabia.
