Russia’s war against Ukraine must not be allowed to benefit from the geopolitical situation and the crisis in oil prices, the Ukrainian president said.
Out of the roughly 19,500 integration courses currently running across Germany, about 300,000 people are enrolled.
The number had once stood as high as 51,000, Dmytro Bohatiuk, who leads the ministry’s missing persons department, told state news agency Ukrinform.
“This will not have happened if Ukraine had received sufficient air defence and if the world had been determined enough to counter Russian terror,’’ Mr Zelensky said.
“In times when the enemy tries to destroy us, we demonstrate every day that Ukrainians are and will be. Ukraine is and will be,” said Mr Zelensky.
In November 2024, the Canadian government set a target for 500,000 permanent residents in 2025.
The theatre had sheltered women and children from the war before an explosion took the building down with hundreds of casualties.
Around 1.1 million people fled Ukraine for Germany in 2022, according to official statistics published on Thursday.
The training is expected to last for several weeks, with the German government promising 14 Leopard 2s to the Ukraine.
