The chief judge of Kogi, Josiah Majebi, on Thursday freed two awaiting-trial inmates, Hassan Alfa and Umar Abubakar, at the Kabba Medium Security Custodial Centre.
He urged them to sustain operational momentum.
Mr Abubakar said that the review was effective from August 24.
Mr Oye said the justices would be inaugurated after the President’s approval and Senate confirmation.
The prosecutor said the offence contravened the Plateau Penal Code.
The chairman said the commission reviewed the remuneration packages in the reports based on subjective and objective criteria.
The secretary to the tribunal, Umar Abubakar, made this known on Wednesday in Ado-Ekiti.
The name of the Nigeria Prisons Service (NPS) was changed to Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) after the president signed the NCoS Act 2019 into law.
“As of Monday, December 15, we have 74,824 inmates in the correctional centres. Also in the correctional centres are 50,955 male and 1,223 female awaiting-trial persons.”
The Nigerian Correctional Service has dismissed nine officers and retired 25 others compulsorily for misconduct.
