The Zamfara chapter of PDP has commended the Federal High Court, Abuja Division, for upholding the party’s position on its national secretary.
The ratification ends prolonged speculations over the party’s national leadership, which had been in flux amid earlier factional disputes.
Justice Ladiran Akintola, after hearing the arguments of both parties, adjourned the suit until December 8 for a ruling.
The PDP National Ex-Officio Forum condemned what it described as an unlawful invasion of the PDP national secretariat in Abuja.
The development occurred at the hearing of a suit seeking to stop the PDP’s planned national convention at the Abuja Division of the Federal High Court.
“The defections you see in Delta are bound to happen in other states,” said Mr Suswam.
“We have instructed the zonal caretaker committee to take charge of Delta after dissolving all existing structures, as most of their members have defected,” Mr Damagum stated.
Mr Makinde also called for the removal of the INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in the state, Oluwatoyin Babalola
The case was adjourned until October 4 for hearing.
The Peoples Democratic Party has constituted a 152-member national campaign council for Edo governorship elections, scheduled for September 16.
