The operation was carried out on May 24.
The Court of Appeal has upheld the conviction and sentence of Umar Mohammed, the former boss of Nigerian Army Properties Limited, for stealing and misappropriating funds.
Mr Ayoola said, “A joint operation conducted by personnel of the Tanke Division and members of the Tanke Community Vigilance Group led to the arrest.”
Mr Mohammed warned that continued consumption of such contaminated water could result in intestinal infections and possible disease outbreaks in affected communities.
Minister of Agriculture and Food Security Abubakar Kyari said the goal is to increase food production and strengthen Nigeria’s food security.
The police spokesperson said Mr Mohammed on interrogation stated that he acted out of anxiety and emotional excitement.
The commandant said the suspect sexually assaulted the victims through anal intercourse multiple times at his residence and in an uncompleted building.
He assured that the corps was fully prepared to enforce the law and ensure a hitch-free celebration.
Mr Mohammed said that the suspects would be charged in court upon the completion of investigation.
He said NIHSA plans to conduct a national survey of major rivers and tributaries to address these challenges beginning next year.
