In a statement on Monday, UN Women said 1140 women and girls died daily in the hands of their partners or close relatives.
The findings come in the secretary-general’s latest annual report on women, peace, and security.
Ms Eyong, however, said the Nigerian Army, police and NSCDC had adopted gender policies and strategies to ensure full operationalisation of the gender policy.
She said this at a workshop on Early Warning For All, National Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Strategic and Action Plan 2023-2030 in Abuja, on Monday.
“I will retrieve the machines and take them to people who need them,” she said.
Mr Bello called for laws to keep requests to withdraw the cases under KIV for some time to enable the victim to decide finally.
“As many countries head to the polls this year, we all must put women first, at the pinnacle of power.’’
Mehjabeen Alarakhia, UN Women’s regional adviser on Women’s Economic Empowerment for East and Southern Africa, said this on Tuesday.
The figure is likely to be higher as many more are reported dead under the rubble.
Mr Wonneh said the symposium was a global campaign to end violence against women in 2023.
