UN humanitarians in Gaza have suspended operations temporarily for 48 hours following the killing of seven aid workers.
The WHO spokesperson added that only 14 hospitals are still functioning in Gaza.
“No place is safe in Gaza anymore….At least 4,000 people have taken refuge in this UNRWA school-turned-shelter.”
The WFP said that 1.7 million people in Somalia, 516,000 people in Ethiopia and 466,000 people in Kenya have been displaced by drought.
The UN World Food Programme (WFP) says a funding crisis has left no fewer than 5.4 million people stranded without aid in West Africa.
“The massive flooding is destroying newly planted grain and with it hope for 345 million hungry people around the world for whom grain from Ukraine is a lifesaver.”
WFP warns there is likely to be a drastic increase in the number of people facing hunger as violence continues in embattled Sudan.
The fund is for the UN World Food Programme to assist with critical emergency cash and food sustenance in Sudan.
Countries in the Horn of Africa are Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, Eritrea, Somalia and Sudan.
Over 10 million children are being fed through the programme at the rate of N100 a meal per child.
