On March 6, the judge dismissed Messrs Ndifon and Anyanwu’s no-case submission.
Delivering his ruling on Mr Ndifon’s bail application, Justice Omotosho admitted him to a N250 million bail with two sureties.
The adjournment did not go well with Solomon Umoh, SAN, who appeared for Mr Ndifon and Sunny Anyanwu, the co-defendant.
The ICPC, through its counsel, Ebenezer Shogunle, had filed the charge marked FHC/ABJ/CR/511/23 on October 30, 2023, against Mr Ndifon.
A protester, Tony Erei, said they would continue the protest until the institution reverted to the status quo.
UNICAL said the hike was due to economic realities and the need to maintain the university’s academic standards.
Meanwhile, the university’s management has declined to comment on the incident.
Mr Ndifon was arrested on October 4 by the SSS after shunning several invitations.
The suspects were said to have tried to snatch the Toyota Corolla vehicle from the driver while on their way to their supposed destination.
“We are sensitising the students about sex for grades. Let them be bold to talk about it. They own their body. Nobody has right over their body,” explained Ms Obi.
