Presiding judge Daniel Damulak sentenced Mr John following a guilty plea to trespass and theft. Mr John begged the court for leniency.
The judge advised the couple to persevere, saying that all marriages have their issues.
The judge ordered that the kayanmata seller be arrested and remanded in Suleja Correctional Center until her next hearing on March 17.
The convict was, however, given an option to pay a fine of N30,000.
“The defendant used the counterfeit N1,000 note to buy suya of N300.”
The suspects were alleged to have strangled the cassava seller and buried his corpse in a shallow grave in the bush.
During police investigation, it was discovered that the visas the defendant procured were not genuine.
