BPP and FRC have signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen collaboration and promote good governance in Nigeria.
The FRC chairman described the oil and gas sector as the backbone of Nigeria’s economy.
He described corruption as one of the greatest threats to Nigeria’s development.
He emphasised the need for continued commitment to fiscal discipline at all levels of government.
The Fiscal Responsibility Commission has expressed its readiness to partner with BudgiT to enhance transparency in Nigeria’s capital budget implementation.
FRC chair stated that the bills’ main objectives align with the Fiscal Responsibility Act 2007 principles.
He said that it allowed citizens to monitor government activities.
“Ensure that you verify the actual existence of the projects as well as monitor the progress of the work done so far.”
He encouraged all stakeholders to commit to more prudent management of public finances to achieve desired outcomes.
Mr Adedeji said that the call was in line with Mr Tinubu’s quest to improve the revenue generation architecture of the country.
