Direct talks between the Ukrainian and Russian envoys will begin at 12:30 p.m. (0930 GMT).
British foreign secretary David Lammy has accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of sending a “low-level” delegation to peace talks on Ukraine.
President Donald Trump arrived in Riyadh on Tuesday for his first multi-day foreign trip since he returned to the White House earlier this year.
On Saturday, Mr Zelensky and European leaders urged Russia to agree to a “full and unconditional” 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine.
Mr Zelensky said that, in his opinion, the Russian view of the war, which had been ongoing for more than three years, had prevailed in the new U.S. administration.
A large proportion of the materials are located in Ukrainian territories currently occupied by Russia.
The talks follow a meeting between the United States and Ukraine in Saudi Arabia on Sunday.
During a high-stakes phone call on Tuesday, Mr Trump urged Mr Putin to agree to a comprehensive ceasefire.
Mr Trump’s decision is expected to dramatically change the landscape of the situation on the ground in Ukraine.
The U.S. officials accused Mr Zelensky of disrespect and a lack of gratitude for U.S. support.
