Mr Edafe urged the public to continue to support the police by providing timely and credible information.

He added that approximately 8,660 litres of stolen crude oil were seized during the operation.
The police said that the suspects, on the way to the police station, confessed to be members of a five-man kidnapping syndicate operating.

Mr Edafe said that one locally made cut-to-size gun with six live cartridges and two expanded cartridges were recovered.
No less than 50 of the offenders were convicted by a mobile court and various fines awarded them.
