The minister’s remarks have caused him to trend on social media particularly Twitter where many users excoriated him for making unfounded accusations against the Labour Party candidate.
Mr Obi said this in reaction to a recent statement made by Mr Mohammed accusing Mr Obi of inciting people to violence over the outcome of the presidential election, saying it is treasonable.
“Nothing gives this election more credence than those facts because there was no rigging in states where our bigwigs come from.”
“The rally is to show solidarity for a mandate that was freely given to Tinubu at the polls by Nigerians and to let the world know that he is the winner of the election.”
The protest will be held at Lafayette Park, South West Quadrant, Washington DC, on April 3.
The U.S. plans to strengthen the forensic and chemical analysis capacity, intelligence gathering and prosecution capabilities of the NDLEA.
Mr Buhari expressed strong optimism that the party would win all the elections fairly and squarely.
While in Washington, the Nigerian leader also participated actively at the U.S.– Nigeria Business and Investment Forum.
The summit will be held between December 13-15, 2022, in Washington DC.
