Mr Trump had vowed to carry out the largest deportation of illegal immigrants in the U.S. during his presidential campaign.
“I think we’ll do it February 1,” Mr Trump added, referring to the potential start date for the tariffs.
The US president-elect will be sworn in to his second term in the White House on Monday, eight years after he first took the oath of office.

Among them, 39 individuals were serving sentences for non-violent offences, including marijuana possession.
