Global leaders and donors on Wednesday at the World Health Summit in Berlin, Germany, pledged $2.6 billion to work toward ending polio.

World Health Organisation (WHO) director-general Tedros Ghebreyesus has expressed optimism that the COVID-19 pandemic will end in 2022.
The vaccine is produced by the Serum Institute of India, under licence from Novavax, and will now be part of the COVAX facility portfolio.
The WHO announced the approval in a statement on Wednesday.
