U.S. Consul General Will Stevens added that the fashion industry, a multi-billion-dollar sector, offers vast economic opportunities.
He said the agreement evidenced the commitment of the U.S. to “explore educational partnerships” between both nations.
The scholarships cover expenses such as standardized tests, application fees, U.S. visa and SEVIS fees, and airfare.
According to Mr Stevens, the diaspora council comprises people from the academia, finance, business, tech, think tanks, and religious sectors.
Mr Stevens said this in his address during the celebration of America’s 248th Independence Day, organised by the U.S. Consulate in Lagos.
Will Stevens, the U.S. charge d’affaires in Nigeria, has commended Nigerians living in the United States for their impact on America’s economy and sports.
Mr Stevens said climate change was one of the key pillars of President Joe Biden’s administration.
The organisers said that so far, they had generated 1,000 quality films to be exhibited in the course of the festival.
The state government said it considered the U.S. a progressive partner in the areas of economy, good governance, security, climate change and human capital development.
