The World Trade Organisation has confirmed the reappointment of Nigeria’s Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala as its director-general for a second term.
The CG, on Wednesday, announced that the service had hit its revenue target of N5.1 trillion on Tuesday, with more than a month remaining in the fiscal year.
The African group at the World Trade Organisation presented a proposal at its general council to re-elect Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala as WTO’s director-general.
China’s commerce ministry said on Friday that the European Union is to blame for escalating trade frictions, which could lead to a “trade war.”
“Ngozi Okonjo Iweala is a quintessential Igbo in character, ingenuity, elegance and integrity.”
Mrs Okonjo-Iweala said that Nigerian cowpea and sesame exports had increasingly faced rejections in several destination markets.
Mr Nnaji said the plant was conceived in March 2004 as “a child of necessity by the desire to increase power supply nationwide.”
“Let me reiterate how excited I am that this thing has finally come.”
Mr Rashid said Iraq was eager to meet the trade and economic standards to join the agency.
“If our big problem is ourselves, it means that the solution also lies in our hands,” Ms Okonjo-Iweala.
