Three men, Oluwole Adekunle, 25, Olajide Ibrahim, 28, and Yusuf Ibrahim, 31, were on Wednesday arraigned in an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court over alleged burglary and stealing.

The defendants, whose addresses are not known, are being tried for conspiracy, burglary and stealing.

The prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that the defendants committed the offence on September 4, at midnight in Igede-Ekiti.

He alleged that the defendants conspired among themselves and broke into the house of Mr Olagunju Oladapo.

Mr Oriyomi also alleged that the defendants stole a pumping machine with pipes and cable, two big size mattresses and two window blind belonging to the complainant.

According to him, the offence contravened Section 421, 322(c) and 302 of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021.

The prosecutor urged the court to remand the defendants in the correctional centre, pending legal advice from the office of Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).

The pleas of the defendants were, however, not taken.

Counsel to the defendants, Busuyi Ayorinde, urged the court to grant the defendants bail, with a promise that they would not jump bail.

The Chief Magistrate, Abayomi Adeosun, granted bail to the defendants in the sum of N200, 000 with two sureties each in like sum.

He adjourned the case until October 24 for mention.
