The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture states that it has released over 200 improved crop varieties in collaboration with Nigerian Research Institutions and other partners.
Diebiru-Ojo, a scientist, adopted the Semi-Autotrophic Hydroponics technology.
The sensitisation programmes were sponsored by the Fleming Fund through the University of Liverpool, UK, in collaboration with FMLD.

The commissioner explained that the policy would discourage the practice of farmers planting grains instead of certified seeds.
