The lecturer died at a hotel in Anyigba while with a student and the incident was reported to the police by the hotel manager.
He stated that during the examination, a supervisor reported that the defendants were involved in examination malpractice.
The state police spokesperson described the incident as unfortunate.
Mr Tinubu announced this on Thursday during an expanded FEC meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja in honour of Mr Buhari.
