The executive secretary of NBTE, Idris Bugaje, said the initiative would democratise access to AI education and close connectivity gaps across tertiary technical institutions.
While the federal government closed 41 unity schools, governors of Kwara, Plateau, Niger, Benue, and Katsina also shut down schools in their states.
According to the statement, about 253 people are still in captivity.

He warned students and parents against fraudsters and unauthorised platforms.
He said the closure had become necessary following the recent cases of attacks in part of the state.
Mr Mohammed said the decision was reached at the end of a security meeting held by the governor and the state’s security chiefs.
“A total of N54.2 million scholarship grants was given to the 2,199 students during the second phase of the lawmaker’s support,” the lawmaker said.
The Niger State Governor, Mohammed Bago, and Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, have ordered closure of schools in the two states to prevent further abductions.
CAN said a total 215 students and 12 teachers were seized by gunmen from the school, located in Papiri, Agwara Local Government Area of Niger.
