The Niger State Governor, Mohammed Bago, and Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, have ordered closure of schools in the two states to prevent further abductions.
CAN said a total 215 students and 12 teachers were seized by gunmen from the school, located in Papiri, Agwara Local Government Area of Niger.
Mr Olaniyan encouraged students to be curious about their origins.
The COREN president urged the new practitioners to uphold public safety.
Mr Yahaya described the incident as disturbing, unacceptable, and an affront to children’s safety.
The NUC secretary said many honorees had allegedly used the titles to claim unearned academic status, attract undue prestige, or secure personal advantages.
“May the Lord grant quick release to those abducted and continue to protect His people from all dangers,” the CAN chieftain said.
The exact number of abducted pupils is yet to be confirmed as security agencies continue to assess the situation,” the government said.
The state police spokesperson, SP Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the attack in a statement on Friday.
