The Kano executive council has approved the appointment of Lekan Balogun, the Olubadan of Ibadan, as the chancellor of the state-owned Sa’adatu Rimi University of Education.
Abubakar Aliu and Aruna Tukur were sentenced at the weekend by a Chief Magistrates’ Court sitting in Akure, the capital of Ondo.
The Technical University (Tech U) was renamed Sen. Abiola Ajimobi First Technical University, Ibadan.
Ms Famuyibo made the allegations in her counterargument against her husband’s claim that she maltreated him in the matrimony.
The event, held at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan, also witnessed the presentation of certificates of return to 32 newly elected House of Assembly members.
The court was told that the victim, who suffers from stroke and on a sickbed, was sexually abused by the defendant without her consent.
The governor said he would work with the ideas of his co-contestants in the just concluded governorship election in the state.
The judgement was delivered on Friday.
