Over 70,000 Boko Haram terrorists and their families surrendered to security forces on July 29. They comprised 14,609 combatants, 20,955 women, and 35,029 children.
General Onyeuko made this known at a bi-weekly news briefing of the Defence Headquarters on Thursday in Abuja.
“We have long been in receipt of a security letter from the office of the National Security Adviser which placed (a) ban on the usage of urea as well as NPK across Borno.”
Borno has declared Monday, August 1 as a public holiday to commemorate the beginning of a new Islamic Year, 1444 AH.

While Mr Usman died after being shot in the neck, Mr Goodluck, hit with bullets in the chest and arm, was taken to the hospital for medical treatment.
