Governor Douye Diri, on Monday, expressed sadness over the demise of Senator John Kojo-Brambaifa.

Mr Ezekwe explained that Mr Wike gave Rivers women a voice and financial independence, pledging solidarity behind the minister.

The deputy speaker of the Rivers Assembly, Dumle Maol, assured Mr Wike that the people of Gokana would be with him every step of the way.

INEC has fixed February 21, 2026, for the conduct of by-elections into the Ahoada II and Khana II constituencies of Rivers.
