Party leaders have defended the emergence of Leke Abejide as the APC candidate for the 2027 House of Representatives election in Kogi.
Bayo Onanuga, spokesman for President Bola Tinubu, says the collaboration between the federal government and sub-nationals is accelerating development across the country.
The stakeholders made the call on Tuesday in Lokoja at a roundtable organised by the Department of Political Science, Federal University Lokoja.
Mr Cleopas said it aimed to protect the sanctity of electoral mandates and curb post-election political migration.
“The decision of the lower court to proceed with the judgment despite the express order of this court is the highest form of judicial impertinence,” it said.
The Oluwo of Iwoland in Osun, Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, has cautioned politicians against politicising insecurity in Nigeria.
Mr Adebayo, in a statement on Tuesday, said there was no constitutional or legal basis for restricting political parties’ activities through administrative or judicial action.
“We must never sacrifice our sacred institutions on the altar of politics. Nations rise when institutions are stronger than individuals,” said Mr Obi.
Addressing journalists in Abuja on Monday, Mr Ugochinyere described the decision as an “invitation to anarchy” and a threat to Nigeria’s democratic order.
The ADC considers this development not merely a legal dispute, but a dangerous escalation capable of destabilising the nation’s democratic process.
