Osun residents have expressed concern over rising political violence and killings ahead of the August 15 governorship election.
“The commission finds these remarks to be hate speech and incitement to religious hatred and potential violence,” said the NHRC boss.

Mr Fadahunsi said the viral video was deliberately edited to distort his statement.
He said the democratic model adopted by African countries lacked sufficient African context and often failed to meet the continent’s needs.
Mr Salifu said youths had been systematically excluded, directly or indirectly, from meaningful participation in the democratic process and governance.
“Coming from a serving member of the National Assembly who swore to uphold the constitution, we feel compelled to demand the arrest of senator Fadahunsi,” the group said.
