The foreign ministry likened Mr Trump’s intention to “run” Venezuela and commandeer its oil as reminiscent of an “imperialist.”
The AU’s position was outlined in a communiqué on the situation in Venezuela issued on Saturday.
On Saturday, Mr Maduro was captured and flown to the U.S.
The French leader said Mr Maduro, himself, rubbished the dignity of the Venezuelan people with his disregard of fundamental rights and freedoms.
Mr Trump vowed revenge on the foreign oil sector, accusing Venezuela of forcing out Western oil companies that helped build its energy industry.
Mr Guterres called on all parties involved to engage in “inclusive dialogue” in accordance with human rights and international law.
Mr Trump said Secretary of State Marco Rubio and defence chief Hegseth will work as a “team” with the Venezuelan people to “run” the Latin nation.
This comes against the backdrop of Mr Maduro’s arrest by U.S. forces at Caracas.
Despite the injuries, Mr Trump deemed the mission an overall “brilliant” success.
Earlier on Saturday, Mr Trump announced that Mr Maduro has been captured by U.S. forces.
